Beyond.

Batman Beyond remains to this day my favorite animated series outside of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I fully expect them to make a movie out of the storyline at some point in the future after Nolan and Bale’s movies are a memory, but if recent news is any indication, that may be a while.
The artwork above is from Wyv, who has a whole bunch of cool pieces you can check out on his (her?) DeviantArt.
AAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ads with sound? I had adblock disabled for this site 🙁
Enabling it again until this is fixed.
You obviously grew up in the wrong generation. Batman the animated series blew Batman Beyond out of the water. Still a good show though.
Nah I do like the animated series, but Beyond just edges it out for me. I’m a sucker for the future.
Batman Beyond could never be what Batman: the Animated Series was, but I tend to agree that I’d love to see Batman Beyond graduate to cinema treatment. I know that the idea was briefly kicked around by the WB, and I believe they even had a director or two attached at one time. Either that, or they really should kick out an ample half-dozen of scripts for some direct-to-DVD continuation of it.
I wish they’d do it before Clint Eastwood dies because he’d be a great old Bruce Wayne.
I watched both Batman series a ton and loved them both. I’m on Paul’s side of the aisle here though. Something about the future and being grittier was very appealing about Batman Beyond. Plus it was nice seeing a young lead that was flamboyant like Robin. For a newer toon, I liked Teen Titans quite a bit 🙂
wasn’t flamboyant***
You guys should really check Young Justice – by far the best DC animated show in last 15 years. Epic serious stories (with some light material), mystery, action, it has everything. Unfortunately it has only 2 seasons but they are great and worth checking,
I totally agree Batman beyond was epic. I keep hoping against hope that it will get turned into an amazing movie. What could be better an aging Batman no longer able to fight crime, his apprentices all gone or dead, Gotham slips closer and closer to the brink after the Bat no longer keeps crime in check. A new hero emerges with a whole new energy not the stoic hardened batman that we are all used to but a kid who laughs in the face of danger. All the while the voice of Bruce is in his cowl chastising him for not being more serious. But at the same time this kids fresh unhardened outlook on life helps keep Bruce from completely slipping away into the blackness that is waiting for him. It could be amazing they should do it!
Why care which show was better, both kick ass and deserve more cinematic treatment
