Winnie the Pooh Demonstrates Mental Disorders

GIF artist (yes, there is such a thing) Matthew Wilkinson has animated this series of images to show different mental illnesses, as acted out by Winnie the Pooh characters.

I’m not sure how I’ve never seen this before, but they really do align with all the various Pooh characters, and it makes my childhood memories just a shade or two darker.

Besides Christopher Robin hallucinating talking animals as a way of coping with his abusive father, check out the rest of the disorders below:

Wow, dark! And also weird how character traits I thought were endearing are really just the result of a disturbed psyche.

  • This made me literally LAUGH OUT LOUD! Very dark, but awesome.

  • Random Leon

    it’s funny because it’s true!

all these old cartoons seem to have a very dark undertone to them.. that we only see as adults… i used to get creeped out by the music to the magic roundabout just like bill bailey 🙂

Next time you link to something with pictures of corpses with engorged nipples and entrials hanging out, plz warn first. Children may have been present.

    Similar concept.

  • Luke

Winnie the Pooh actually started out as a non – fiction account of mental illness, so it’s not surprising that someone would make this observation, still funny though!

Now THIS is something! Lmfao! I especially like ‘ADHD’. =)

  • Oh quick quick – project some homosexuality into it too! Don’t leave it as the beautiful white cultural heritage it started as. Tear it down.

Don’t forget co-dependent Kanga and Roo!

I just died a little bit inside.

this show should have been banned years ago if this was true cus alll the kids would say ‘I WANNA BE LIKE ONE OF THEM SOMEDAY!’ and get the disorder themselves
