This Week In Movie Trailers!

The internet mourned for Robin Williams and I for one have been fairly somber about it all week. Since this is my continual Friday writeup and its always about movies and the trailers that come with them, then what better way to start it off than with a few words from the man himself. The man who was so humble, sweet, compassionate, and most of all funny. The man who was somehow able to hide the darker parts of himself in order to entertain us. By making us laugh, cry, and smile…he touched us all in more ways than he’ll ever know. Robin Williams will be missed, thank you sir for everything.

“Oh captain, my captain…”

Let’s do this.

Mortdecai

Does anyone else think that this is some weird homage to the Pink Panther? Or am I just missing something that is blatantly obvious? Either way, Johnny Depp looks perfect for the role. (Will I see this? – maybe)

Rudderless

This looks really good. William H. Macy seems to always be that actor that goes on without recognition far too often. I’m all for a movie that is going to get at me on a real emotional level and I think this will do it. (Will I see this? – yes)

The Canal

WTF?! This is a very long trailer for what it is … which is nothing new. (Will I see this? – nope)

Beyond the Lights

My wife loved the movie Love & Basketball so I’m guessing if she sees this trailer, I’m probably going to get roped into taking her to this. At least it’s not a Nicholas Sparks movie. (Will I see this? – nope *gulp)

The Best of Me

Bwahahahahahahaha I had no idea that the next trailer I’d be putting in was this – and it just worked out so well that way! I’m seriously still laughing too hard to even watch this trailer. (Will I see this? – nope)

The Admiral: Roaring Currents

It’s like 300 Rise of an Empire … but without the half naked spartans. (Will I see this? – nope)

The Homesman

A film by Tommy Lee, starring Tommy Lee? Well – count me in. I think he portrays an old cowboy type perfectly. (Will I see this? – yes)

Revenge of the Green Dragons

Interesting choice for music in this trailer. Wait, is this the kid from 21 & Over? Interesting. (Will I see this? – rental)

Pride

I’m a sucker for true stories. I’m also a sucker for wicked accents. Doubt this will hit my theater so I’ll rent it. (Will I see this? – rental)

Drive Hard

Remember last week or the week before when I made the comment on John Cusack being a lot like Nic Cage?…yeah. Sadface. (Will I see this? – nope)

By the way, I finally saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes this past weekend, and then TMNT. Planet was amazing! If you haven’t seen it, and it’s still playing in a theater near you – do yourself a favor and see it on the big screen. I sure hope Andy Serkis finally gets an Oscar nod.

What do you guys think about this week’s trailers? Any of them peak your interest? Sound off in the comments below. Yeah, I actually want to hear from you. Any trailers I might’ve missed? Take care and enjoy your movie filled weekend!
