The Most Inspirational Fictional Movie Moms
Christine Collins – Changeling
“Five months after the disappearance of her son, the LAPD returns with a stranger they claim is her son, and Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie), after being accused of lying and hysteria, must take on the government to right their wrong and find out what really happened to her child.” This is truly an underrated movie and probably one of the best performances by Jolie. Hats off to her even though normally I’m not the biggest fan of her work.
Novalee Nation – Where the Heart Is
After being abandoned in middle-of-nowhere Oklahoma by her selfish boyfriend, the 17-and-pregnant Novalee Nation (Natalie Portman) does what she has to do for her and her baby by secretly living in a Wal-Mart until the child is born, six weeks later. With the help of eccentric but kind friends, Novalee is able to rebuild her life, thus creating a better one for her new daughter, Americus. Another somewhat unknown role for Portman considering all of the Star Wars and now post Oscar Hype. Solid flick.
Really, really hate this new-page-for-every-entry format for lists.
C’mon, dont start putting 1 thing for each page, WHY oh WHY do websites do this shit, dont start a trend of this PLEASE!
There’s a reason every site does that it turns out, you need page views to stay alive. The site is free to you guys, but we need a few extra clicks to keep things running. I promise we won’t doing 20 or 30 page posts, usually should be none, sometimes 2 or 3, at most 6 on occasion. It’s not ideal, but that’s the way things work unfortunately.
At least put two or three on each page. You stand to alienate a large portion of your viewers if everybody hates a new format being forced upon them.
wtf is this crap, there are better ways to improve your site traffic. Like posting more original content and appealing to more peoples interests. Not only the cosplay / pokemon / fanart nerds
@Uncoolaidman
Fine, but come on, we’re hardly being Gawker here.
@bob
OK, what would you like to see more of? Anything to offer besides insults?
I like the separate pages. Loads better on my iPhone.
And let’s be clear, if it wasn’t a business, why would people waste their time? Aren’t you guys (I’m not American) a nation with an economic system primarily based on the profit motive?
Im sorry Paul, just read your new post regarding this issue. I take back what I said, well, actually, how I said it. I didnt mean to be that aggressive (kind of having a bad day lol), I can see you really care for this site and the people who view it. Unreality has been one of my regular procrastinating checklist for over a year now, swinging by almost daily. I love the Final Coundown, I share your love for AD and the Wire (hell I think I got into The Wire thanks to Unreality) and I enjoy your lists and movie posts.
As I said I really dont care that much for the cosplay /pokemon /fanart stuff, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to me but other people enjoy it I guess so wth. If youd really like to know id enjoy more movie and technology related posts and whatnot but I know I can get that from other sites, Im aware I can take it or leave it.
Anyway, my apologies for sounding like a douchebag in my previous comment.
Hey All, I’ve read your comments and we’re gonna try and do our best to put the new pages at times when it’s best to use them meaning more content will be fed before a break. As you’ll see, this article has been fixed.
I have a GIGANTIC CRUSH on Sally Field. IN MY PANTS…True Story.
I dare you to watch Stay Hungry and Smokey and the Bandit and not blame Burt Reynolds for nicknaming her “Frog”.
Whilst we’re suggesting new content…
I’d love more movie reviews. You guys who write for this site seem to have the exact same taste as me, and seeing “4 out of 5 stars” let’s me know I’m going to like it. I often find myself echoing you’re GI Joe review when defending the film to my friends (who hate it) “but it’s like they’ve filmed what you used to do zooming your GI Joes around the house!” (obvious paraphrase, cut me some slack, that was two years ago)
Hey, look at me, I’m too good to click links to be entertained.
It’s not like you’re donating kidneys, people.
