Star Wars Goes Day of the Dead

Halloween might be my favorite skull-related holiday currently, but if I were Mexican or Spanish, I’m guessing that the Day of the Dead would probably take that spot.

The origins of the festival go back thousands of years to the Aztecs honoring their dead, so why can’t it go back  even further and span across to a galaxy far, far away?

Artist John Karpinsky got the idea to recreate famous Star Wars icons in Day of the Dead fashion, and you can see his results in this cool but creepy gallery below.

  1. What an idiot. Only Mexicans celebrate Day of the Dead. It’s like saying, if I were American or British Thanksgiving would be my favorite turkey-related holiday.
