Quasi-Cosplay of the Day: Apron Krang

Alright so if this is cosplay, it’s about as low-level effort as you can put into a “costume,” but it’s still awesome.

It’s a Krang apron via where else, Etsy, that you can buy from seller HaufMessThreads $150. There’s only one and it’s not sold out, so if you want to drop $150 on an apron, knock yourself out.

This looks like the South Park version of Krang to me, but I still really like it.

Do Etsy people just make whatever the f*** they want and just hope that copyright owners don’t come after them? I don’t really understand their system.

  1. HauteMess Threads is awesome, and it is not cosplay. She creates aprons that are fun and unique to please today’s kitchen folk. I am a proud owner of her work, and the quality is fantastic. You chose a special creation to critique, not all of her aprons cost that much, and considering her heart and soul went into it I think $150 is fair game. It is a one of a kind. It is indeed awesome, and for the person that wants this apron it will be a lifelong treasure.

      1. Except that the only mention of that ponderment didn’t come until the end, as if an afterthought. The body of your wishy-washy review focuses only on her ability to feed your idea of quality cosplay. None of her customers get “rewarded” for arguing her quality, we do that because we KNOW she deserves it. Seeing as this article is posted to her Facebook page, I can safely say you are bound to be swarmed by angry customers. With your ill-researched report and back-and-forth opinions, you make for an easy target my friend. My suggestion for the future would be to research work for what it is, or not at all.

          1. On the contrary, she handles these things like a champ. She was amused and thought she would share. I am the one that was offended.

  2. She makes aprons. Amazing aprons at that. And for the copyright comment, if that’s a fact maybe every cosplayer should be fined a huge payment for dressing up as copyrighted characters. There are people who make money off of cosplayinh but you don’t see them being law suited when they sell those costumes. Stop complaining because you aren’t that creative.

  3. Well, SOMEONE’s got her apron in a twist.

As for the link, I doubt I’d ever feel like dropping that kind of cash on something to catch barbecue sauce, but if I did this would be a pretty legit choice. Or possibly an Alien-themed one, as the barbecue sauce would only add to the effect there.

Now, if I was gonna go and get angry about a blog post, I’d probably find something other than an harmlessly amused bit of free advertising to tear into. To each, her own, though.

  4. I guess I’m not sure where anything was insulting to the creator of the bad ass apron. I re-read this a few times, and I think it is great advertising. I looked through much of her other work that I would have otherwise not known about at all. I think the apron looks awesome (as does almost all of her stuff), and if I had money like that to drop, I wouldn’t hesitate to get this.

I’ve also thought the same thing about copyright stuff and Etsy, and I have really no clue if anyone has been “shut down” because of it. And again, I think it is more of an Etsy question than about this specific artists (is that the right word?).

mandie sounds like you’re a troll suckfest person.
