Nothing Quite Says Twenty years of Pokémon like $2,000 Pure Gold Pikachu Card
Considering that some Pokemon Cards are worth in the 5 figures and even more, a $2,000 Pokemon card actually isn’t that crazy. To mark the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon trading card game, this is a solid gold Pikachu card which is officially priced at 216,000 yen (US$2,081). The card itself is 11 grams of 24k gold and is a collaboration between the Pokémon Company and jeweler Ginza Tanaka.
Unfortunately I don’t have any information on where to buy one but I’m sure if you visit the Tanaka site or main Pokemon site you can find some information. I wish I knew how many of these were actually produced because this could be quite the collector’s item. I could definitely see this being worth over $10,000 in 20 years should only a small amount of these been produced.
Either way, it would be pretty awesome to have a solid gold Pokemon card. Though I think I’d want a golden Squirtle.
