Obscure Movie Characters We Like: Mr. Jackson in Boomerang
OK, first of all, anyone who knows who John Witherspoon can understand that this guy is awesome. Any time you need someone to play the old, perverted, funny, angry older black guy, Witherspoon is your man to call. It’s just that simple.
There’s perhaps no better instance of when he nailed this role than when he played David Alan Grier’s character’s father, Mr. Jackson, in the movie Boomerang. “Bang Bang! Bang Bang!”
The whole “you’ve got to coordinate” scene is incredible. P.S. I think this character and the one he plays in the movie House Party might be exactly the same.
Here’s to you Mr. Jackson.
The “coordinate” scene right after the jump:
Classic
Gerard! Did you see what your father???….. Awesome.
OMFG, I HATE ads that automatically play when the page loads… I couldn’t even find this one to turn it off!
We’re working on it.
John’s most memorable role for me is as Mr. Jones (the dad) in Friday. He’s absolutely hilarious when he’s ripping on Ice Cube for eating all the food.
Here’s a little “Best of Mr. Jones” –> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UA1WMhojTkc
@NattyB – Sweet! 🙂
@IcemanD – “Damn dog bit me in my ass!”
