An Inside Look at Pixar Studios
I figured I’d start with a pure definition of who Pixar Studios is to get this article started…
Pixar Animation Studios is a CGI animation production company based in Emeryville, California, United States. To date, the studio has earned twenty-two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and three Grammys, among many other awards, acknowledgments and achievements. It is one of the most critically acclaimed film studios of all time. It is best known for its CGI-animated feature films which are created with PhotoRealistic RenderMan, its own implementation of the industry-standard Renderman image-rendering API used to generate high-quality images.
In other words, they are a badass animation company who is making an absolute fortune in the movie industry right now. And with most companies that kick ass financially a few perks come along with the cash flow.
One of those perks? Great digs for working. Along the lines of a Google or Facebook, Pixar Studios definitely seems like a great place to work.

Incredible, The giant inflatable Wall-E is pretty amazing. It certainly seems like a dream job.
It would be a lot easier to get up for work in the morning if my office looked like this.

i totally agree. im in manufacturing so a lot of my work is very hands on and dirty. i would love to have a big ass arcade room.
Oh my god…Pixar Studios is amazing!
That sort of work environment can be a bit unsettling though – it really comes down to how much influence the employees have on it, and the real reason it’s set up like that. I’ve worked in places where there are lots of toys, but it kind of weirded employees out because it was really a management PR thing, which outsiders didnt realise and thought “oh wow, they must love the workers here”, which wasn’t really the case.
