The Final Countdown: Movies by Kids, Free World of Warcraft and a Mission Impossible 4 Trailer

Published by under Final Countdown

Go here to see classic movies as understood by a five year old.

Kids process everything differently than adults, and their innocence allows them to view even things not suited for them through a different sort of prism. This photoshop (err MSpaint a lot of the time) shows that in action.

She Ain’t Much to Look At, But She’ll Get You All the Ladies

Published by under Images,Movies

Why yes, this is a giant 8-foot long Millenium Falcon beanbag chair, which if placed in your house would likely act as a sort of virginity insurance. Just kidding, obviously your twelve cats would just pile on top of it and never leave.

I have an oddly passionate hate for beanbag chairs, as I’ve never sat in one that was comfortable, and even the huge ones made me feel like I was drowning. The Falcon here looks a little more sturdy, but I will never know as you can’t actually own this. It was commissioned by Adidas to help promote their line of Star Wars shoes. What a giant beanbag chair has to do with promoting shoes, I have no idea, but someone out there has to own this, and there are probably a number of very happy cats playing space bounty hunter on it as we speak.

The Matrix Lobby Scene Goes A Cappella

Published by under Movies,Videos

The Matrix‘s lobby scene is still my number one movie gunfight of all time, and no matter how many times I watch it, it never seems to get old. Yeah, there have been competitors over the years (I particularly like the final gun rampage in Wanted), but still, nothing can touch it.

So naturally, I was happy to watch it one more time, though with a slight twist. The famous soundtrack has been replaced by an all a cappella version, which is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds, but also kind of hilarious. Check it out for yourself above.

Commander Shepard Taking No Chances During Upcoming Reaper Invasion

Published by under Images,Video Games

I’m excited about Mass Effect 3, and the ability to wrap up my favorite game series in years with a bang, but I’m actually even more excited that it’s been delay to 2012 so I won’t have to choose between it and Skyrim.

It also indicates they’re going to be putting more time into the game, possibly crafting more awesome armor sets like this one. No, this isn’t official, it’s made by artist StTheo, and has Shepard in full-on tank mode. I guess he doesn’t want to mess up that pretty face of is. Can he see out of that thing? I do like it, he looks like a sort of medieval space knight.

The artist also took on a redesign of Boba Fett in this same style which you can see below. He really does like that helmet shape.

Unreal Movie Review: Bad Teacher

Published by under Movies,Reviews

2.5 out of 5 stars

Ah, the public education system. It’s a highly flawed institution in America that needs serious overhaul as inept teachers, careless parents and misbehaved children all combine together to make sure test scores are low, and the bar for success is even lower. At least a lot of the time. With all its problems it would seem to be ripe for parody, and so does Bad Teacher deliver on that potential?

Nah, it’s just about a hot teacher who swears and drinks and gets high a lot.

But whatever. Not everything has to be subtle satire, and on occasion it’s alright to let loose with pure crass that serves no ulterior purpose. No brilliant writing, no touching moments, barely a life lesson learned, but Bad Teacher gets a passing grade. But only just.

It reminds of a similar movie, with a similar title. Bad Santa will stick in your mind throughout Bad Teacher, as both films follow an asshole (Billy Bob Thornton, Cameron Diaz) who has a job that forces them to work with children (Santa, teacher) despite their obvious disdain for the little shits. They curse and booze and generally are terrible, terrible people, but through their dickish-ness, accidentally help out a few of them along the way.

Dave Rapoza Starts Work on the Actual Turtles

Published by under Images,Television

This is about my third Dave Rapoza post in as many weeks, but it was necessary to show that after rendering every sub character in the Ninja Turtles universe, he’s actually started work on the turtles themselves now. Granted they all sort of look the same with different color eye masks, but whatever, still cool to see.

Above we have Donatello, in case you couldn’t tell by the giant stick. After the jump there’s Leonardo, with only a glimpse of his famous swords. He looks none too pleased about whatever’s in front of them, and also reminds us that yes, these turtles have teeth, as opposed to real turtles. I suppose you can’t gum pizza though.

Check out Rapoza’s past work here and here, and stay tuned for Michelangelo and Raphael.

A Gallery of Assassins in Other Lands, Other Times

Published by under Images,Video Games

Assassin’s Creed is one of my current favorite game franchises, so much so that I forgive them for trying to make the same game about four different times before moving on. But when they finally do, speculation turns to what sort of Assassin might we see next. Where will he be from? In what time period will he function?

There has been massive speculation as to the where and when, and a number of artists have tried to guess correctly. All these pictures are going to be featured in Asassin’s Creed: The Encylopedia, and they feature a whole host of Assassins from everywhere from the Orient to the Old West to the Middle East to space, as you can see above.

A few of these I think we’ve featured, but the majority are brand new. Check them out below.

Crappy Must See Movie of the Week: Zapped

Published by under Columns

OK I’m gonna go on complete memory here.   For those of you young people out there Zapped is about as classic a cheesy 80s movie as that can possibly go.   Scott Baio plays some geeky dork science loser in high school and has some wacko experiment that goes wrong.   What does it do?

Well of course it gives him powers to be able to move stuff.   More importantly it enables him to make girls clothes pop off at any moment.   Even better?  His best buddy is of course the same guy that played Eddie (Willie Aames) on Charles in Charge.  And who else but one of the hottest 80s girls ever, Heather Thomas plays the sexy chick in the movie.

It’s about as dumb and awesome a movie that you could hope for.  It’s certainly worth the hour and a half of your time.  If anything for the nudity and what 80s movies used to be.   I so miss that Era.

Enjoy the trailer after the jump……

Funny Awkward Kisses of Famous People

Published by under Images

We’ve all been there.  It’s happened to each and every one of us.   Whether it’s a handshake or a kiss hello, each of us has had one of those moments that we wish we could take back.  One of those, “did I/we just do that?” moments.   Whether you went in for a kiss and she didn’t or you stuck out your hand and they didn’t, awkward greetings can be hilarious.

Personally I think they’re even funnier when caught on television and are done by famous people.  The kinds of people who aren’t supposed to make these mistakes in public.

Anyway, Life magazine did an entire segment on this very topic and wouldn’t you know it, we have the photographic evidence…..
