The Morning Link: The Worst Party Scenes Ever

Published by under Morning Link

Before the days of Youtube and Jersey Shore… we depended on movies and television to interpret the craziness of debauched partying. Sometimes they made a perfect mirror to the world of those stricken with double vision and shaky sweatiness. Other times they failed horribly.

Go here to see how bad.

Spider-Man off Broadway

Published by under Images,Oddly Enough

I know this is incredibly stupid, but it made me laugh as I imagined it’s what it would be like if Spider-Man quit his injury prone Broadway show and just decided to take in the town with some friends. Friends who happen to be mortal enemies.

In reality, these are probably three costumed homeless people who charge $10 a pop for pictures like this, but in this case I’d say it’s totally worth it.

Treyarch’s Call of the Dead Has an Actual Cast?

Published by under Video Games,Videos

I’m just about sick of Black Ops, meaning that it’s time for another map pack!

But outside of Soviet Zoos and even more snow levels, there’s going to be another zombie map. Usually this isn’t anything to write home about, but Treyarch has gone all out for this version, as you’ll see the in Grindhouse trailer above.

Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund and Michael Rooker? Throw Bruce Campbell in there, and you’ve got yourself a stew!

Alright, I’m Taking the Nerd Bait

Published by under Images,Movies

It’s honestly a pretty slow day here in “crazy entertainment related things” land, and so I’m forced to feature something as obvious as a hot girl wearing a Stormtrooper helmet.

It’s from Flickr user ParkerNow, and no, there aren’t any more in the series from what I can find. I’ve seen a lot of pictures like this before and I have to wonder, do this many people just have a Stormtrooper helmet lying around?

I’m almost willing to bet this is Olivia Munn as it’s exactly the kind of thing she’d do to bait geeks. But she wouldn’t be OK with you not seeing her face, so I guess she’ll stick with Slave Leia bikinis.

Eight Awful Trailers for Very Good Movies

Published by under Lists,Movies,Videos

This seems to be happening to me more and more recently. Usually, when i’d see a bad trailer for a film, I’d skip it, but now with this job I see almost everything, and that’s resulted in a lot of pleasant surprises.

Sometimes trailers are just so poorly cut, they take a good movie and make it look terrible. Here are eight examples that came to mind, and if you have any suggestions of your own, I’d love to hear them.

Debate of the Day: How Much Faith Have You Lost in Sony?

Published by under Debate,Video Games

[via reddit]

So I know a lot of die hard PS3 owners read the site here, fans that are now having to change every password they have on the internet and cancel their credit cards after Sony’s massive PSN security breach.

As a 360 owner, we have a lot of fun ripping on each other, (and teaming up on the Wii), but I must seriously pose the question now, what does this do to your faith in Sony and the PS3?

After this is all cleared up, will you be comfortable providing Sony with your personal details again, knowing that this has the capacity to happen? Or is this not a big deal, and a few more spam emails won’t do anything, and your credit card company will make sure you don’t go broke if someone does in fact try to steal your identity.

I guess I’m trying to establish just HOW pissed off PS3 owners are about this, and if it will affect your perception and use of the brand either now or in the next console generation.

What say you?

Starcraft Papercraft Must Be Seen to Be Believed

Published by under Images,Video Games

I know what you’re thinking. Oh it’s a 3D model of an Immortal from Starcraft II. So what?

IT’S FREAKING PAPER.

I’ve seen and featured some amazing papercraft on our site here before, but nothing that compares to this. All of these figures look completely computer generated, but I promise they’re not. They’re fashioned entirely out of paper by a talented Korean named Constable, and it’s amazing to me that something this detailed is possible with those sorts of materials. If you don’t know the game, trust me when I say these are perfect 1:1 recreations of the in-game models, something that would be tough to do with a computer, much less paper.

He’s done a number of different units from Marauders to Siege Tanks to Battlecruisers to Banshees, and you should hit the jump and check them all out.

Stay in Your Lane!

Published by under Images

The first thing I thought of when I saw this picture was remaking the NES Classic “Paperboy” and putting it on like a PS3 or something.   One of the enemies you run into is the dreaded “Cone Guy” or whatever the hell name you’d have for something like this.

I just found new respect for the construction industry.  This thing is awesome.

10 Video Game Enemies That Scare the Crap out of You

Published by under Lists,Video Games

It’s the moment in a video game that you do not expect and are not happy about.   You come across some kind of enemy that you don’t quite know how to kill not to mention it’s something that scares the hell out of you.

I guess it’s a good sign when said character does in fact scare you.  It means the game creators did a good job.  Still though, it’s uncomfortable.

This isn’t a new topic but we came up with our own list of 10 video game enemies that scare the hell out of us….
