Published by under Final Countdown

Go here to see Disney remaking dark movie moments.

What if Walt Disney had his hand in some of our favorite classic movies. It would certainly make things stranger that’s for sure, as this photoshop contest demonstrates. Check it out above.

Unreality’s Facebook page would pay to see most of these.

Willow Smith Looks So Much Like Her Father It’s Terrifying Me

Published by under Images,Movies

I’ve seen Willow Smith before, don’t get me wrong, but there’s something about this picture in particular that actually made me do a double take when I saw it.  She literally looks exactly like her father, his highness the Fresh Prince, right down to his giant ears.

I also just learned the Smith kid naming trick where Jada = Jaden and Will = Willow. Clever right?

Oh, I should also probably mention that Will Smith is now remaking Annie, starring Willow, as presumably she wants a movie for Christmas after her brother got one (Karate Kid). Also, Jay-Z is starring in it. This should be a sight to behold.

A Black Ops Nuketown Dance Party

Published by under Video Games,Videos

I’ve posted many a video about the kind of crazy kills found in Call of Duty Black Ops, but I don’t think I’ve put up anything as ridiculous as this video.

With the aid of what I believe is an empty ballistic knife, this group of gamers turned Nuketown into a dance party to the beat of “Cat Daddy,” a song I’d never heard but fits with what’s going on here exceedingly well.

I heard this was featured on Attack of the Show, but I didn’t get it from there. Seriously, who watches Attack of the Show?

A Rather Interesting Nintendo Infographic

Published by under Images,Video Games

I’ve moved away from posting infographics recently, as since they became popular, their quality has generally plummeted pretty hard. But I did enjoy this one that was sent to me that focuses on the gaming behemoth Nintendo, and much of it displays just how massive the company is.

The full graphic is after the jump, and it’s full of interesting facts like I didn’t actually know that Nintendo meant something specific in Japanese. I also didn’t realize that the Wii and DS are now the greatest selling console and handheld respectively of all time. That’s pretty insane, and I’m not sure if that’s good or bad news.

If Street Fighter Characters Switched Genders

Published by under Images,Video Games

Artist Bastien Vives got a strange idea in his head that he wanted to see what it would look like if various Street Fighter characters swapped genders. Why? The answer is why not. If you don’t ever ask these kinds of questions, who will?

So what’s the result? There are some rather butch ladies and girly men here, though let me tell you that Chun Li was definitely never meant to be a man, and Sagat was never meant to wear a midriff-bearing sailor shirt. Some transitions work pretty well, like I could grab some coffee with female Dhalsim, but if she showed up and looked like female Blanka instead, I’d turn around and start running.

Check them out for yourself below:

Debate of the Day: Is It Time for Sci-Fi to Let Battlestar Galactica Die?

Published by under Debate,Television

Battlestar Galactica remains one of my favorite TV shows of all time. That’s saying something when a combination of my job and a hobby has had me see about 45 different complete series in my life so far.

It’s a sci-fi epic that managed to look impressive while being relatively low budget, and it also worked as a powerful drama and mystery. To be short, the way I introduce it to my friends who automatically associate it with hardcore nerd-dom, it’s a good TV show that just happens to be set in space.

I’ve been able to get many people into this show who otherwise wouldn’t have gone near anything sci-fi. It’s not without its flaws, but generally it had a pretty excellent four season run, and will forever live on as a classic.

But Sci-Fi (I refuse to call them “Syfy”) seems to realize that the show was their golden goose, and they haven’t been able to replicate its success since. They had the idea to make a prequel to the series, Caprica, but with no human cylons, the most important aspect of the plot was removed. Instead we had a show that didn’t have a real direction, and I tuned out when a dead girl’s consciousness got trapped in a giant cylon’s body…and fell in love with a boy.

That show was cancelled after less than stellar ratings, but now I hear there’s ANOTHER Battlestar prequel series in the works starring Luke Pasquilano (above) as a slightly older William Adama than in Caprica, and the show, Blood and Chrome, takes place during the first Cylon war.

Again, no human Cylons, so this effectively becomes a Terminator Salvation miniseries set on another planet. Don’t you think it’s just time for sci-fi to let this one go, and continue developing their other properties? Or do you think BSG really has the potential to spawn spin-offs as effective and enjoyable as the original?

A Gallery of Excellent Halo Concept Art from Bungie’s Isaac Hannaford

Published by under Images,Video Games

So allegedly Reach is the last we’ll see from Bungie’s Halo universe until another studio picks up the reigns, but I have my suspicions that they won’t be able to resist returning to it at some point.  But until then, all we can do is play the old games, and enjoy them for what they are.

One person who put a lot of work into the Halo world is artist Isaac Hannaford, who has recently started up his own blog that showcases a ton of the work he’s done for the halo franchise, which I have to say often looks better hand drawn than rendered in 3D with computers.

Check out a gallery of his best stuff below, and head over to his site for even more.

The Making of a Wooden Homer Simpson

Published by under Images

Some people play video games in their time off.  Some people play piano.  Others do different things.  This particular person likes to carve wood.  But in particular, they enjoy carving famous cartoons.

I just made that all up.  This person just happened to want to carve out a Homer Simpson sculpture.  Who are we to stop them?

Check out the evolution after the jump…..

This is What We Call Batman Overload

Published by under Images

As all of us feverishly await the next installment of Batman we can still revel in the fact that Batman is a huge part of our lives.   I honestly think we can thank The Dark Knight for that.  Granted Batman Begins was good but clearly the Dark Knight got all of our blood pumping again for the reinvigorated movie series.

Obviously we are all saddened that Ledger won’t be able to participate but if there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that Christopher Nolan will not let this franchise stumble, not even for a minute.

So while we wait, let us take a look at how Batman is still in our lives……

The Morning Link: The Most Offensive Move at Sundance

Published by under Morning Link

It’s called “The Woman” and people are running out of the theater left and right.  It will probably never make it to a theater near you, so you might as well just read what’s gotten people so upset.

Go here to find out.
