The Five Best Nintendo Switch Games of 2018

The year has finally come to an end and it’s been a great year for gamers with a Nintendo Switch. There were so many good games that it’s been difficult to choose which are the absolute best, but gamers have spoken by making their purchases. We’ve narrowed down our list to the five best Nintendo Switch games of 2018 and here they are.

5. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Brawler genre

The fifth best Nintendo Switch game for 2018 is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It’s the most recent installment in the Super Smash Bros. series and it’s also the very first one that was released for the Switch. Players were thrilled to discover that this most recent game brought more characters into the mix along with a lot more playing levels. In fact, there are a total of 74 characters that you can unlock if you have the skill. Eleven of them are brand new. The animations get a thumbs up and it features an excellent single-player story for those of you who live to go solo now and then.

4. Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu / Eevee – RPG genre

What makes this game so special to rank fourth among the long list of new releases for 2018? It’s the first Pokemon RPG to be released for a home console. It delivers high on combining the elements of the classic series with the Pokemon Go mechanics. Anyone who is familiar with the game released in 1998, Pokemon Yellow, will immediately see the similarities but it’s far from old school or being outdated. It’s a total re-imagination of the classic game. You really do have to play the game for yourself to understand its true value, but we can tell you that it’s nothing short of amazing as it blends the old with the new

3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Racing genre

Mario Kart fans were thrilled with the new Mari Kart 8 Deluxe game for 2018. This has been rated as by far the best version of Mario Kart yet. The racing competition really heats up as you can race against up to eight of your friends in this totally updated version of the game that’s made for Nintendo Switch. If you want to take a more laid back approach, two people can play using just one console. Although ti came in third place on our top five best Nintendo Switch games for 2018, it took two super phenomenal games to beat Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the top position.

2. Super Mario Odyssey – Adventure genre

This has got to be the best Super Mario adventure game that has been made. It’s a 3D game that takes Mario around the globe. In this game, you’ll discover that Mario gets a brand new friend named Cappy. This is a seriously updated game for the series and it’s really cool because it features a lot of new moves that make it even more fun and exciting to play. It’s a fresh iteration of the game that still feels like Super Mario only better and with a lot more to do. It turns out beautifully on the Switch console. Players gave Super Mario Odyssey a thumbs up and it comes in as the second most highly ranked Nintendo Switch game for 2018.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Action RPG genre

Finally we come to the number one best rated game of 2018 for Nintendo Switch. It’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This is the latest installment of the franchise which has maintained a number one status for gamers for a long time running. This game takes Switch owners into a total world of wonder with an easy to operate game that doesn’t require a ton of tutorials to get into the real swing of the game. It reveals the full potential of the Nintendo Switch with all the glory of The Legend of Zelda. Players were so intrigued with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that they made it the top selling best game for Nintendo Switch of the entire year.
