The Best Trey Parker and Matt Stone Non South Park Projects

We’ve come a very long way since the epic Jesus and Santa fight we all saw way back in 1997 in a crappy .avi file called “Spirit of Christmas.”   That was our first look at the South Park characters and I’ll never forget laughing as hard as I did when I saw that video for the first time.

“What are you doing in South Park Jesus?”   God that was funny.  And the random Brian Boitano thing?  That was just a taste of things to come.  Trey Parker and Matt Stone have given us plenty with South Park alone but you can’t deny these guys are multi talented.  And breaking into the mainstream by winning a Tony is proof.

Here are the best Non South Park projects by Stone and Parker…..

BASEketball

I know a lot of people out there hated this movie.  I for one did not.   I mean it’s really just South Park humor only in real life.  And frankly I found it to be really really funny.  Sure it’s stupid but it’s meant to be stupid.   Plus I think it was just a chance for Parker and Stone to just mess around and have fun.

Book of Mormon

Let’s face it kids.  This thing got 9 Tony Awards.  It’s really impossible to argue with that.   What it all boils down to is that these guys know how to write musical lyrics.  Hell even music.   If you think it’s easy to write the stuff they do for Southpark, it isn’t.  And carrying that over into a Broadway musical isn’t something that happens by chance.

Team America:  World Police

Do you realize how hard it must have been to make this movie?  Forget if it was good or not.  Just think about all the work involved.  Just attempting a project of this magnitude using string puppets is enough to warrant a spot on this list.

Princess Flash Series

This came right off of the early fun of the Southpark video.  Completely 100% ridiculous and if you watch again I guarantee you will laugh. The animation is awesome.  It’s overly raunchy but pretty funny.   If you want to see it look it up yourself because it’s a little hardcore.  Funny thing is that I think the animation set the stage for lots of shows today.

That’s My Bush!

Do you realize how absurd it is that an entire show was created that made fun of George Bush Jr. while he was President.  I mean that has to be the first time that’s every happened in history.

*Orgazmo

This one’s hit or miss.   The movie was so friggin’ dumb but I liked it.
