The Best Non-Ledger Joker Costume I’ve Ever Seen
I wanted to post this even if I didn’t have all the proper identifying info, because it’s just too amazing to pass up. After The Dark Knight, everyone’s Joker costumes appear to be a of the dark and edgy variety, but I think there’s still a place for a well-dressed clown prince, and so does this guy.
He’s pretty close to Hamill’s Joker, though a more cleaned up version of the one we’ve seen recently in Arkham City. At one point I saw a picture of the makeup process to transform him from normal dude into a smiling freak, but I can’t locate it right at the moment. Check back for an update once I find the info I’m looking for (or someone posts it in the comments).
Very awesome. They guy has the perfect smile for it. And I don’t know if that’s his real eyebrows or just make up, but bravo.
Oooo.. there is a very awesome makeup tutorial for this guy somewhere….. I saw it the other day.
That is pretty cool. I also enjoy that he went with the Joker from Batman the Animated Series from the 90’s, that was by far my favorite Joker (though really, any Joker voiced by Mark Hamill is a winner).
Heath Ledger kind of ruined the Joker for everyone with his mind-blowing execution of the character. People WANT to like other Jokers better, they even lie to themselves about it, but truth is his Joker topped everything done so far, despite being a rather cardinally different than the previously known Joker.
Now any attempt of emulation of Ledger’s Joker just seems cheap and any other variation just isn’t good enough.
From my comment it sounds like I have a major man-crush on the Ledger Joker, but that’s far from the truth, I hardly care about it, despite acknowledging the fact that he’s one of the biggest badasses on film.
This is the best Joker. Good ole Jack Nicholson. I say this because Ledger killed the Joker. In the bad way. His ‘execution’ of the Joker was just that. Murder. I want my actually good joker back.
I’m so happy to see this. It is such an incredible relief to see that the Nolan Joker hasn’t completely replaced the previous versions in the public consciousness.
The definitive Joker for me is definitely Hamill’s. I miss him. I don’t find the Nolan version to be any better than average.

I’d love to see this guy sans makeup, as it seems like his face is perfectly suited to the character. In any case I love it!
I saw this on reddit awhile back, and I’m still amazed by it because he captures the character so well
I think Ledger’s Joker, just as Bale’s Batman, has to be taken as a variation on theme. There is no longer a single entity that you can point at and say “This is the Joker” or “This is the Batman”
This idea of the correct Joker or ideal Joker is as futile as trying to choose the correct Macbeth or ideal Iago. Many great actors have played the part. Each have brought out elements of the character. Some have focused on the madness. Some on the frivolity. A rare few on the pathos.
Romero was dapper and funny. The dramatic flair and style I think we all love in Joker.
Nicholson showed us the madness veiled under a veneer of folly. I still think his grin was by far the most terrifying.
Hamill does an excellent job of bringing out Joker’s intellect and dramatic flair.
Ledger showed us a Joker who while terrifying in his chaotic nature was also somehow accessible. You are almost drawn to empathize with him and suddenly he turns and throws it all to hell.
All excellent variations of probably the best character to come out of comics.
I for one love that there is so much Joker in the world.
Now I get why Harlequin is madly in love with him… Very, very eye-catching.
well the best ledger joker is riann wilson from the office hands down
Fantastic.
His name is Anthony Misiano. We met him at Wondercon when he came by our booth and we got some pics of him with one of our joker products.

He’s a really cool guy and will be in his full Joker makeup at our booth at SDCC.
You can see his make-up progression here…

If only there was a Joker who looked like this and acted a little more like Ledger’s, it would be a perfect rendition to my ideal Clown Prince of Crime.
I agree with Thomas…Give me Jack Nicholson over Heath any day.
i love the costume and evrything it looks fantastic i would love to know you made it
