The Amazingly Intricate Animated Landscapes of Munashichi

Usually I don’t feature cool art for cool art’s sake on the site here unless it’s a take on an existing franchise we know and love. Or sexy redesigns of Disney Princesses. But today I’m making an exception.
The work of Japanese artist Munashichi just flat out blew me away the first time I saw it. The man has an incredible talent for drawing landscapes more intricate and detailed than almost any I’ve seen across ALL animators.
His landscapes are surreal, gorgeous and the kinds of places where you’d expect a Hayao Miyazaki movie to take place. You won’t regret checking out the full gallery below:
