My Book, The Last Exodus, On Sale for 50% Off, Sequel is Imminent!
Alright, I apologize in advance for being a shameless self-promoter here, but I just wanted to take a moment to make a pair of announcements. One, I’ve just put my book, The Last Exodus, on sale for 50% off. As some of you remember, it’s a sci-fi novel that I published last year as my first book ever, and I was super pumped that a few hundred of you wanted to read it. Some of you actually even liked it!
Well, now I’m hoping that even more of you might be tempted to give it a try if I knock down the price from $3.99 to $1.99. I get way less royalties, but I found I really don’t care. I honestly just want people to read it. I’m hoping $2 is an affordable price point for almost anyone. That’s so cheap I can’t even think of something else to compare it to. A third of a Starbucks coffee? Half of a used DVD? A tiny bit more than a song on iTunes? It’s doable, right?
The other reason I’m trying to respark interest in The Last Exodus is because I’m finally, finally on the verge of releasing the sequel which I’ve been working on since before the first book was even published. It’s called The Exiled Earthborn, picks up where The Last Exodus left off and is about 25% longer than the original. I’m hoping a few of you read the first book in the Earthborn trilogy now, so you’ll be pumped to check out the sequel when it’s out in a week or two. I’m currently doing one final out-loud read-through to hopefully hunt down the last of my typos, and I will publish after that.
Anyway, thanks to all of you who picked up the book when it was full price. If you want a refund for $2, I’ll send you a check. Anyone who hasn’t read the book, I hope you check it out and remember that there are Kindle apps for iPad, iPhone, Android and even PC even if you don’t own the device. If you did read it, thanks so much, and I really hope you like the sequel.
Never apologize for shameless self promotion. Never.
But, if you’re looking for other ideas, why not farm it out to one of your volunteer staff to do a piece for you? (I gotta still read the first one — did buy it! — so I may not be the best writer for the job.) When you’re in the biz yourself, then there’s nothing wrong with utilizing all of your avenues to ‘get it known’ that you have something new coming down the pike.
Yeah, I just figured I had all of the details, so I didn’t need to ghostwrite it. But maybe one of you guys can review the sequel, lol.
*raises hand* I like reading. A lot. Like, a LOT a lot. 🙂
well. . . now i have no more excuses not to at least put this on my phone and read it. This will be done tonight.
I bought your book a while back, gotta read it now so I’ll be ready for the sequel. It had better be good! 🙂
Alright, alright, I’ll buy it.
I picked it up as soon as I saw you list it on the website! Read it thru ans really liked it. Get that other one out soon. I want to find out what happens next!
And thanks!
Why do you keep removing the Jay Sherman “buy my book” link? do you really have no sense of humor?
You got me, I bought it. About a third of the way through. So far, I like it.
And finished. Can’t wait for #2
I think its a really a testament to Paul how many people bought the book to be supportive but end up really liking it.
I just got a tablet last week, so I’m really looking forward to digging into it.
