Movie Recommendation of the Week: Gotcha!
How I have not mentioned this movie is a complete mystery to me. And how I didn’t know that Gotcha! was directed by Jeff Kanew (who directed Revenge of the Nerds) also bothers me. So basically this is Anthony Edwards following up on being Gilbert. That my friends, is a tough act to follow. But still, Gotcha! is a great flick. Here’s a bio of the move:
Jonathan plays a game called Gotcha in which he hunts and is hunted by other students with paint guns. After a big win, he goes off for a vacation in France where he meets the sexy Sasha who says she is only interested in him because he is a virgin. She takes him with her to East Germany where they are separated and he has to escape back to the west on his own, all the while being trailed by East German spies. He arrives home only to find the game is still going on, and a canister of film is in his backpack. Then Sasha re-appears.
Sasha is played by Linda Fiorentino and might I say she looks amazing in this flick with her short hair. Check out the trailer after the jump….

The cheesy music alone is worth it.
Great flick!
Loved this film. Sadly, most today won’t connect with the hold cold war vibe, but this and “Target” with Gene Hackman and Matt Dillon are two of the best of the “fun” Cold War movies in my opinion.
Hear, hear! Took me some years since I first saw that to get my first paintball marker, but this started that “hobby” for me. And overall it was an entertaining movie.
I saw this back in my junior high/high school years… It was a great movie for its time.
I noticed that it popped up a few weeks ago on either HBO Go or as one of Netflix’s streaming movies (sorry I can’t remember which).
Definitely one to check out if you’ve never seen it before…
Oh, good grief. This was an awful flick. I saw it in theatres back then, and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.
I feel like the Rifftrax crew needs to get on this one.
I remember watching this on TBS (Dinner and a Movie I believe) back in early grade school. Lol, what a trip
I grew up with this movie and just recently watched it with (completely unrelated) Tuff Turf. Grate Cheese, Great Fun!
