Five Video Games to Play if You Like Overcooked

“Overcooked is a Team17 game developed by Ghost Town Games that is a cooking simulation that allows cooperative experiences. The main object of the game is for players to control the chefs in preparing meals while overcoming a variety of obstacles with specific orders under a strict time limit. It’s similar to “Chopped” meets the world of gaming. If you enjoy the thrill of “Overcooked,” then we have five other video games for you to consider playing. They’re along with same lines with just as much excitement if you’re ready for a change in the action.

5. Death Squared

“Death Squared” is a multi-tasking game that is a lot like “Overcooked.” It requires you to stay on top of the action every second of the game, but instead of cooking special meals, your task is to deal with a variety of electric currents, different kinds of contraptions, and robot explosions that turn deadly. You have to be on your feet to employ multiple actions at the same time to avoid getting blown up or having something equally nasty happen to your character. This is far from being a relaxing game, but if you bring a few friends on in cooperative mode to help out, it’s a lot easier to survive.

4. Conduct Together

“Conduct Together” is an exciting video game that involves a race against the clock to keep you on your toes. There isn’t any cooking involved, but rather, it involves a party railroad game. It’s the perfect choice for train enthusiasts who do well in a multitasking situation. You are the conductor and you must navigate the trains through a chaotic environment without derailing. there are various trains in the game and they are all moving rapidly along different portions of the track. It’s your job to make sure that you don’t collide with any of the numerous trains that are moving at full speed or the results will be tragic. While you’re trying to avoid any of the trains crashing, they must stop at the stations to pick up riders which makes it even more challenging for you to keep your eye on the rest of them. This game may be even more intense than “Overcooked” because of the number of trains you’re responsible for guiding. Air traffic controllers have nothing on this train conductor.

3. Cake Mania

“Cake Mania” is a lot like “Overcooked” because it makes you scramble to complete your cake orders. It doesn’t include all of the ingredients or dishes that you encounter in the latter. Still, this game will make you scramble to complete your cake project in the scant amount of time that you’re allowed to do so. Of course, there are going to be obstacles to overcome while you’re doing it. When you compare “Cake Mania” to “Overcooked,” this may be a notch lower on the stress level, but it’s still one of the more intense multi-tasking based games to play. It’s been ranked as one of the top games in its genre. For this reason alone it’s at least worth giving a try if you find yourself in need of a break from “Overcooked.”

2. Moving Out

“Moving Out is a fairly new game that was recently released in April of 2020. It’s a Team17 game made for Nintendo Switch, PS 4, Xbox One, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows so there are a lot of ways that you can play. It offers a local cooperative experience and calls for players to move items from houses into a moving van. While this might seem like a simple task, the exaggerated physics makes it a lot harder than it should be. It’s a moving simulation game that can be played in single-player or multiplayer modes. Although it’s the most like “Tools Up!” this game also bars a remarkable similarity to the vibes you get when playing “Overcooked.” It’s all about maneuvering and strategizing to complete tasks that are difficult within a short timeline. This is a co-op game that you can enjoy playing with friends to make it a little easier, but on the other hand, it can also make gameplay a little more challenging.

1. Castronauts

“Castronauts” is a game that is not as well known as some of the others on our list, but it’s one that you’re going to love if you’re a fan of “Overcooked.” This video game was first released in 2018 by Inertia Game Studios, so it’s been out for a couple of years. Instead of preparing specific menu offerings, as in “Overcooked,” your task is to lead a team of astronauts in a spaceship. It’s your job to keep everything running smoothly. You must do this while you are faced with multiple attacks and other potential calamities. This is a co-op game and you can play with up to 4 players. If you’re all working in sync, the job gets some easier, but if you’re not on the same page, chaos erupts. “Castronauts” is the equivalent of “Overcooked” in a sci-fi genre by comparison. The multitasking that is required is every bit as intense and challenging. Part of the challenges that you’ll encounter is avoiding hits by solar flares, arming torpedoes to fight off the enemy attackers, extinguishing fires that break out when you sustain damage from a hit, and a lot more. Some players rate it as being even more chaotic than “Overcooked.” A few of the things that players like the most about this game are the dynamic settings along with the action-packed environment that doesn’t seem to ever give you a break from the commotion. “Castronauts” is an excellent alternative to “Overcooked” if you need to take a break and try something just as challenging but a little different.
