Eight Lasting Hollywood Bromances

Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau

I was a fan of Swingers while I was firmly planted in the Midwest.  It took moving to Los Angeles to grow a deeper appreciation of that movie (starring Vince and Jon) which lampoons the Hollywood lifestyle.  Have any of us figured out how many days to wait before calling someone you’ve met at a bar?  I don’t think so but we on Vince and Jon’s conversation in the movie for advice.  (As an aside, I think the 6 days is a little harsh). But my favorite collaboration between these two friends is in The Break Up where Favreau’s character has to break the news to Vince Vaughn’s character that he is, in fact, a dick.

Robert Redford and Paul Newman

This pair of Hollywood icons first starred together in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969. The team met up again in 1973’s The Sting.  Both men embodied the true meaning of the phrase “class act” and were seen as gold standards for actors in Hollywood.  Sadly, Newman passed away in 2008 and Redford publically expressed his grief “There is a point where feelings go beyond words I have lost a real friend. My life – and this country – is better for his being in it.”

George Clooney and Brad Pitt

These two men just aren’t even fair.  They’ve somehow absorbed all of the handsomeness available to the universe and managed to be decent human beings.  When they’re not pranking each other or starring in block buster movies together, they’re creating a charity for Darfur.  If given the opportunity, I’m sure they would feed the parking meter while you run to get a latte.  And in case their display of friendship wasn’t clear enough, Clooney is scheduled to officiate Pitt’s upcoming wedding to Angelina Jolie.

Jenni Wright lives in Los Angeles and you’re so money baby, you don’t even know it.
