Cosplayer of the Week: Kira Yoshida
I must admit that it’s pretty fun doing these “Cosplayer of the Week” galleries. I feel like I’m discovering a whole new world of people out there that I simply did not know existed. I’m also finding that Italy seems to be a great origin for the love of Cosplay. Segway!

Hello i’m Kira Yoshida. I’m a italian cosplayer, or at least I try. I like the candy and lollipop. I go crazy for sugar and i love the Japan.
I listen much music, i love Jrock and my beloved band is Versailles and Dir En Grey. My secret Dream is become a mangaka. Sorry for my bad English
Well, I’m glad she likes Candy and Lollipop. Seriously though. Kira is a fantastic Cosplay and I think you’ll find her deviations to be quite delightful……

Not Bad, if she makes her own costumes but what is up with all japanophiles adopting Japanese names. I wasn’t born in Japan but as the only Japanese-American in my neighborhood growing up I hated going to clubs or conventions excited about meeting other Japanese kids just to get introduced to white kids obsessed with anime. That’s not all we are you know.
Why don’t you feature more Japanese cosplayers instead of white people wishing that they were Japanese? If I went to a convention dressed in black face because I was portraying an AA character I bet I would get kicked out.
I agree with Anon up there about the adoption of a Japanese name, as it seems a little off-putting, though I’m guessing it’s a stage name of sorts.(?). Other than that, I dig her look for sure!! Nice to see so0me effort put into the actual costume. She’s an attractive woman without being overtly skanky looking. Even the secure outfits aren’t reminiscent of a “slutty (insert occupation here) Halloween costume.” Thumbs up!
