Now don’t get us wrong; when something is seriously wrong and it’s the only way to handle the situation, go for it. However, when you order a coffee from a restaurant and it burns you when you spill it, it’s really not the restaurants fault. Of course, that’s not going to stop money-hungry people from wanting to hire an attorney and sue, so instead of getting worked up about it, read on to find out some of the craziest reasons people sue fast food restaurants.

  2. That the woman that burnt herself sued isn’t crazy. That the public thinks so is due to a misinformation campaign by McDonalds. It’s reasonable to expect to get burnt by coffee, it’s not reasonable to keep your coffee so hot that a spill causes debilitating injuries (and the burnt woman suffered 3rd degree burns requiring skin grafts).

    1. Also while selling coffee with sugar and cream to customers driving a car, it’s reasonable to expect them to want that _in_ the coffee, requiring them to open the lid, which is not unlikely to cause spills due to cars not being equipped with tables.

      If your usual business procedures endanger your customers, and if you don’t do * about it, you’ll have to pay.
