Is the Dragon Backpack Completely Lame or Badass?

Published by Nattyb under Images

Dragon Backpack

Do I say something like “Only in Russia” here? Some weird guy from the Ukraine named Bob Basset has decided to create a leather backpack that looks like a Dragon.  On one hand, to have a custom made bag like this that you can’t find in any store is kind of interesting.  It’s like a collectors only type thing.

On the other hand, do you really want a Dragon on your back?  I mean is that cool or is it the absolutely worst sign of geekdom on the planet?  Or maybe it’s just the kid in the picture who is modeling this thing.  Come on buddy!  What’s with that hairdo?

In any event, I don’t know what to make of this thing.  Thoughts?

(more pictures after the jump to help you decide)

One of the More Epic TF2 Videos I’ve Seen: “Engination”

Published by Paul Tassi under Uncategorized

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG_08PE6SDU

I wish that all games would make themselves as open as Valve has with Team Fortress. If you had enough time you could film a goddamn HBO miniseries using the characters from the game, which you can make do or say almost anything you want.

Here’s a video that has a little bit of everything. It stars TF2′s Engineer and features a great recreation of the Casino Royale intro, followed by a game-crossing music video that dabbles in Counterstrike, Guitar Hero and Grand Theft Auto. Even if you’re not a fan, it’s worth watching just to see how well it’s put together.

The Evolution of Thanksgiving

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Oddly Enough

new-yorker-thanksgiving.JPG

As you can see, we’re now fully back from our little Thanksgiving break, and we even brought you a present. A brand new redesign! With gradients! Hope you don’t already have one.

In any case, I found this New Yorker cover online, and normally we’re not classy enough to report on The New Yorker here, but I thought it was funny enough to post.  I think this may actually be my family, as I think they’re watching the Lions lose on Thanksgiving, as has been tradition for my clan for years now. I also like the inclusion of the emo grandchild on the phone in a corner the whole time.

Sometimes classy people are funny too.

Really Wish I Had Done these Video Game Paintings First

Published by Paul Tassi under Images,Video Games

video-game-paint1.jpg

I’m not the worst artist ever (I graphic designed our snazzy Unreality banner), so I really think had I put my mind to it, I could have painted this series of video game paintings, which are little more than a few cleverly placed painted lines.

Just kidding, Laser Bread, you are very talented and I’m just jello. Sorry, I just watched Jennifer’s Body. In any case, hit the jump for his other two retro pics featuring Missile Command and Dig Dug.

Badass Picture of the Week: Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield

Published by Nattyb under Images

SophiaI can’t help but to think of an ever popular quote from Seinfeld: “That Jayne Mansfield had some big breasts.”  And from the looks of it Sophia Loren must have thought the same thing. You gotta love when Hollywood shows the self consciousness of even the hottest celebrities.  We may think these women have high opinions of themselves but in most cases it’s just the opposite.I mean you don’t get much bigger than Sophia Loren was in her day.  And even then girls will be girls.  It’s almost as if they’re sitting in a high school cafeteria rather than at Romanoff’s in Beverly Hills.

Even the Best ‘DJ Hero’ Video Ever Can’t Convince Me It’s a Good Idea

Published by Paul Tassi under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaAjJG-c65o&feature=sub

If you were to ask me what exactly a DJ does with turntables, I would probably say, “he jerks around the disk so it makes crazy noises, and sometimes he flips switches on the board. After watching this video of DJ Hero, I think I’m mostly right.

This is supposed to be one of the hardest songs on Expert, but I’ll be damned if I have any idea what’s going on, or if I think this looks fun in the least bit. I think this and Tony Hawk Ride are going to be competing for “Most Overpriced Piece of Crap Video Game Bundle” this holiday season.

Has anyone played this yet? Is it actually fun?

Ten of Our Favorite “Family Guy” Fights

Published by Nattyb under Television

Family Guy

How on earth did Family Guy ever originally get canceled?  I mean is that some kind of a joke?  Granted it happened in 2003 and perhaps America just wasn’t ready to laugh, but still it’s just not right.

Would you like a list of some show that were actually aired in 2003?  Here are a few:  That’s so Raven, Two and a Half Men, One Tree Hill, and Whoopi.  Yup those shows were on and Family Guy wasn’t.

I will say this though.  Arrested Development premiered in 2003 so that’s badass.

In any event, Family Guy rules.  It’s intelligent, sarcastic humor and the fact that it’s a cartoon means gratuitous violence is easy to get away with.  For example, check out these 10 fight scenes….

The 10 Best Movie Trailers of 2009

Published by Paul Tassi under Lists,Movies,Videos

where-the-wild-things-are-trailer.jpg

I shy away from writing top tens as much as I used to these days, but I’m coming out of retirement for something I’m very passionate about, the best trailers of the year. I fully believe that a good trailer can make or break a movie’s box office success in some cases, and I really appreciate the work that goes into making a good one.

I think there were a very decent numbers of great trailers this year, but I had to narrow it down to ten now that it’s December and I’ve seen all the ones that will be out before year’s end. Tell me if you disagree, and shout out your own suggestions, but here are the top ten best trailers of the year:
