Wait, You Can Cook in Skyrim? And It’s Good?

Even now, I’m still finding out new facts about Skyrim that are blowing my mind. I thought that the fire pit in the middle of my house was just there so I could toss Lydia onto it if she annoyed me too much, I didn’t realize that you could actually COOK with it.
Now, I wouldn’t normally think to care about cooking, even if it’s existence has surprised me, but this video has shown me that it can actually be pretty damn useful in the game. Namely, that a good beef stew can increase your stamina regen to the point where you can do power attacks infinitely for up to twelve minutes per stew.
As Carl Weathers might say, “Throw some dragon bones in there, and you got yourself a stew goin’!”
That video is incorrect in saying that Stamina is only good for power attacks and sprint distances. Each time you choose stamina at the level up screen it also adds 10lbs to your overall carry weight. *queue the more you know music*
I’m honestly having trouble sticking with Skyrim. I got it for PS3 (a mistake – should have gone PC) but the combat is both too kindergarten simple and too clunky.
It’s a huge game, with lots of bells and whistles. Obviously a lot of work went into this game. I’m just not craving it like I do with Dark Souls. Must be the interface and combat.
Anyone else notice that the dude’s carry weight was 4000+?
Speaking of Skyrim, I think you may be amused by this gamefaq’s thread, Mr. Tassi. Somebody tried to plagiarize your GOTY article and got reamed hardcore.

Doesn’t the blinking bar mean that your power attack was just a regular attack?
I also don’t think that power attacks only use one point of stamina, it seems that different power attacks use different amounts of stamina to me.

Haha, I truly enjoyed that threat. I bed he wasn’t expecting that kind of a response.
You also get 5 more encumbrance from stamina increases.
