Movie Recommendation of Week: The Legend of Billie Jean

Man, remember when everyone thought that Helen Slater would be huge?  Hell she was cast as Supergirl right?  That ended up being a flop.  However, Slater did get in a couple of good flicks before landing Seinfeld and City Slickers (after which I have no idea what happened).   One of her good flicks was The Legend of Billie Jean.

It’s about a poor, pretty small town Texas girl who winds up getting in the wrong situation with the wrong guy.   The guy is the owner of a gift shop who tried to sexually harass Billie Jean.   Upon protecting herself she accidentally shot him but it was really his fault.   However, Billie Jean is wanted by the police and ends up becoming a fugitive and in turn a martyr.

She becomes loved by all in the country and gains legions of fans who support her on the run.   Everything all comes to a head in the end but I can’t give that away.   Check out the trailer for the 1985 classic….
