I Just Learned that Candy Crush Saga is Worth Nearly $5 Billion

You know that annoying message you get every single time you open your Facebook page?  You know that notification that one of your friends is playing Candy Crush saga and that you should be playing too?  At this point in our lives it almost seems innocuous.  But is it?  Back in May the developer of Candy Crush Saga, King Digital Entertainment valued their IPO at a staggering $7 Billion and although the company has struggled a bit the market cap is still nearly $5 billion.

Not bad for one of the most annoying Facebook notifications on the planet.  Truth be told, I’m simply afraid to play this game because the smart money says I’ll be addicted to it within 16 seconds of playing it.  So my suggestion to all of you?  Unfriend every single person that “sends” you this notification.  Do it now and don’t ask any questions because if you cave you’re just putting more money in King Digital’s shareholder’s pockets which just seems like an injustice to me.
