Crysis 3 Gameplay Trailer Makes Me Want to Go to There

Fun fact: I’ve never played a Crysis game. That really shouldn’t be a huge surprise, as I’m not a PC gamer at heart, and my computer has trouble rendering 16 zerglings on the screen at a time, much less the game with the most acclaimed visuals in history. I didn’t even bother.
But I think I may have to pop in a new graphics card for Crysis 3, which from this gameplay trailer, looks just too cool not to play. Visuals aside, the ruined NYC solarium dome idea is probably one of the best video game setting ideas I’ve seen. And not just because Escape from New York was an awesome movie.
Watch for yourself above.
Just so you know, Crysis 2 is on Xbox, and I believe they released Crysis 1 on consoles as well (albeit with dumbed down graphics). And this is also on consoles as well as PC. So there’s really no need to shy away from this series that is just pure, balls-out awesomeness to me.
Though I wouldn’t advise against upgrading a PC, what I’m saying is if you want to enjoy Crysis, the options are still there.
true! crysis 1 on xbox is beautiful as well as crysis 2, you should give them a try! next to battlefield, they’re my favorite shooter on consoles!
I’ve tried the series out a couple times, but outside of the graphics I found little noteworthy about it… I’m not the world’s biggest shooter fan, but with all of the CoDs, the Halos, the Battlefields, and the classics like Half-Life, I just didn’t see anything that said “you REALLY need yet another shooter! And this one’s a vaguely-characterized cypher in a powered suit fighting aliens! That’s innovative, right?”
I’m sure the game will be good but it worries me that the hook is a bow and arrow. I mean, I don’t care how high-tech it is, it’s a freaking bow and arrow. Still, I’m sure it will be great. They made a lot of improvements in the gameplay from Crysis 1 to 2 (the powers were more useful and I used a wider variety of them) so I’m confident that 3 will just continue in that tradition.
