Comparing Grand Theft Auto IV to V

Well we’ve seen the trailer and debated the lack of a female protagonist, but there’s more to Grand Theft Auto V than that. Namely, we should discuss just how damn good looking this game is.

Game Informer has a series of side by side shots of the old and new engines. I’m not sure how they set up the exact same scene in both games, but it’s a pretty cool effect. Maybe Rockstar did it for them.

Are these both on the same console? One isn’t some PC render? If so, they’re really getting all they possibly can out of the Xbox 360 and PS3. Crazy how they manage to extract every bit of power out of the machine by the time we’re ready for a new console generation. Gallery starts below:
