A Gorgeous, Touching Animated Kung-Fu Break-Up

Wow. Rarely do the videos I feature here move me, but between the gorgeous animation, all-too-real script and the overall amazing concept, this is one hell of a short film. No wonder it’s won awards.

Animator Jonathan Ng illustrated a break-up phone call as an ink-and-paint  martial arts fight between a boy and a girl. The result is simply stunning, and you have to watch the entire thing for yourself. Make it fullscreen for the best viewing experience.

Okay, time to be sad now.

I think I'm a part of the first generation of journalists to skip print media entirely, and I've learned a lot these last few years at Forbes. My work has appeared on TVOvermind, IGN, and most importantly, a segment on The Colbert Report at one point.

  1. Wow, very cool. The dialogue struck me as kind of stilted at first, but either it got better or I got used to it a couple minutes in. The animation was just gorgeous. Definitely choked up a little at the end. Great concept, very well executed.
