“Hi, I’m Troy McClure, and You Are Now Reading This in My Voice.”

Troy McClue has been a Simpsons staple for decades now, and someone decided to go back through the archives and catalog every “Hi, I’m Troy McClure!” moment.

He always then says where you might remember him from, and this is a complete listing of all this absurd titles.

My favorites have to be “Butter – The Motion Picture” and “The Erotic Adventures of Hercules”

One Man Army Sings the Pokemon Theme Song

Published by under Video Games,Videos

This video is excellent for a few reasons. First, it’s a guy singlehandedly singing the Pokemon theme song by himself. Second, I just learned that there’s actually three and a half minute version of the song.

I think we’ve featured this “one man army” guy on the site before singing some other video game’s tune. This video marks one of the few times I’ve ever felt compelled to comment on a YouTube video, because initially he had some little notation at the beginning that was telling everyone to stop making fun of him for so many v-neck shirts, and that he’s not gay and has a girlfriend ok? As true as that may or may not be, I told him to take that down as after reading it I was only paying attention to the v-necks.

Anyway, you’re a talented kid, keep this up and you’ll be an extra on Glee in no time.

The All-Star Gaming Cast of Video Wars

Published by under Images,Video Games

Why yes, this is the classic New Hope poster rendered completely with space video game characters.  It’s from DeviantArtist jnkboy, and I want one for my room.

As always, we can now play the “identify everyone here game,” which naturally I cannot quite complete.  I’ve got most of them, but the hairy beast guy escapes me. Also, why is Starfox a midget? And why are there Easter Island heads in the background?

And I hate to nitpick, but Mass Effect guns don’t shoot lasers.

Unreal Movie Review: Knight and Day

Published by under Movies,Reviews

knight1.jpg

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a movie as completely nonsensical as Knight and Day. Given its cast and director, it should have been a stylish and memorable action comedy, but given its script, it’s like someone won a contest where they wrote into 20th Century Fox and their script was randomly selected to be made into a movie by A-listers.

And judging by the fact that the film is written by Patrick O’Neill, who has no previous writing credits and whose last brush with Hollywood appears to be a turn as Waiter #1 in Senseless in 1998, I think that actually might be the case. So what was his grand prize winning pitch?

Roy Miller is a super secret spy being hunted by the government for being too awesome. June Havens is a simple small town girl who likes to fix old cars while looking like a supermodel. The pair’s paths cross and June is caught up in Roy’s tale of espionage, which has to do with him stealing a piece of secret government technology, and being hunted by the CIA, FBI and arms dealers for it. But he’s been framed! Or maybe not! Who knows? Stop asking questions and let’s jump off this freeway overpass!

A Halo Elite Costume for the Ages

Published by under Video Games,Videos

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NsQLq7EMkk&feature=player_embedded

The other day I showed you a fully animatronic General Grievous costume that some crazy German guy had made. It was pretty awesome and terrifying at the same time, but now it has some competition.

Above is a video showing the construction of an animatronic Halo Elite costume that very well looks like it could have been stolen from the set of the now-dead Halo movie. It’s not quite done by the end, but we do get to see a brief glimpse of it being fully worn, and good lord, if this thing is heading to the SDCC, the cosplay contest will be over before it begins.

True Blood Review – “It Hurts Me Too”

Published by under Reviews,Television

 trueblood10_331-550x366.jpg

Last week, we learned a bit more about the werewolves of Mississippi and were introduced to the vampire for whom they did their dirty work – the Vampire King of Mississippi himself, Russell.  Russell had offered Bill a job as sheriff, but his offer wasn’t without ulterior motives.  Lorena made her return, and Eric made it perfectly clear that he wants to be more than friends with Sookie.  This week, we learn more about Bill, get to know the mysterious Franklin a bit better, and find out what happened to Jessica’s missing trucker corpse.

Keep reading for the full review.  As always, spoilers ahead.

Wrestling

I think all of us know that wrestling is fake.  Don’t get me wrong.  Wrestling is extremely dangerous regardless of whether or not it’s fake.  The athleticism these guys have is that of most professional athletes.  So technically I’m one of those people that actually believes a lot of this stuff is real.

Is a guy REALLY getting hit in the face?  No.  Certainly not.  But a guy is definitely lifting another guy up and slamming him down.  A guy is definitely jumping off that top rope.  The stuff pro wrestlers do is very very hard.  However, it’s moments like these that kind of make you laugh at the whole narrative.

Still though.  I miss the days of Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheik.

15 Cool Photos of Famous People with Cats

Published by under Images

Celebrities and Animals

I may have mentioned this before on this website but in case I haven’t I’m not the biggest fan of cats.  Actually let me rephrase that.  I’m not the biggest fan of domesticated cats.   Like I love lions and tigers and stuff.  It’s just when it comes to having a cat as a pet I think dogs are 100 times cooler.

That doesn’t mean that I hate cats.  I just prefer dogs.  And man oh man are there some crazy cat lovers out there.  It’s unbelievable.  Sure enough amongst the crowd are the celebrity contingent.  In fact, there’s an entire site dedicated to finding pictures of celebrities and cats.

Obviously I have taken the time to find 15 pretty solid pictures of cats and celebrities that I hope you enjoy…..

There are some pretty classic franchises that we take for granted at this point, but if you really look at them, they’re actually quite bizarre. A plumber fighting turtles with the help of magic mushrooms? What’s THAT about?

Go here to see the other WTF origins of classic characters you know and love.
