Stan Winston’s Giant Robot Befriends a Little Girl
There are many adorable moments at Comic Con every year as parents bring their children and dress them up in nerdy costumes the kid doesn’t comprehend. But this is the most adorable-ist moment of them all.
It’s a giant robot, created by Stan Winston and Wired, who befriends a little girl. It’s not actually a robot, but the fact that it’s a guy in a suit is just as impressive. If you look, you can see his two normal size arms guiding the others around.
The interaction between the two is cute enough to be its own Pixar movie, and with the way Hollywood is going, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone buys the rights to this YouTube video and adapts it into a film soon enough.
And now I’m sad because I’m here and not there. Thanks, jerk.
I thought Stan Winston was dead.
It’s his FX studio
I was going to watch this and then come down here to crack a joke about how you shouldn’t give Hollywood ideas, but I kinda just want to see that movie now. That girl is way cooler than most girls that age I know, and is actually cooler than I am, too.
Stan Winston’s FX studio was shut down after his death, the heads of his departments formed their own studio called legacy effects.
Yeah I though the same about swfx, so was this done by legacy effects, then? Just curious.
