Video Game Planets

From animator Tim Hijlkema in the Netherlands comes this rather cool animation that shows video games in planet form. What exactly does that mean? Well, once you watch the video for about two seconds you’ll figure it out.
There are tons of great games featured here and I think I was almost able to guess them all on first glance. For those of you who want the full list of titles, you can find that after the jump:
1. Half Life 2
2. Limbo
3. Battlefield 1942
4. Super Mario 64
5. Assassin’s Creed
6. Roller coaster Tycoon
7. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
8. Fallout 3
9. Team Fortress 2
10. Mirror’s Edge
11. Portal 2
12. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
13. Bioshock
14. Mass Effect 3
15. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
16. Tetris
17. The Sims 3
18. Medal of Honor
19. Minecraft
20. Halo
Tetris .. but on a globe.
You could make a game out of that.
I know, we’ll call it “Tetrisphere”.
And it will be the best game N64 has ever seen!
Pretty pointless in my opinion. Isn’t visually pleasing at all either.
Now, maybe it’s just me, but even having played 90% of these games for hours on end, and watched the rest played by friends/family, I STILL only “got” Minecraft, Tetris, and Halo. For the rest I was thinking “generic shooting game…”, “generic videogame city…”, “modern generic videogame city…” and so on
