Well I had thought that Kings would have a better chance of surviving the chopping block because of it’s Sunday (rather than Friday) timeslot and it’s non-affiliation with Fox, but it turns out nothing may be able to save it, even after one episode.
Kings turned out to be the lowest rated show for the entire night on Sunday on any network in any timeslot.
Why? Well, there’s the simple fact that people are idiots and new shows like Lie to Me will end up running for five seasons (OMG solving crimes with science? GTFO!) while potentially interesting new dramas like Kings will get axed without so much as a second look.
I’m coming to realize that I don’t always blame the networks when shows like this get canceled, I mean what choice do they really have with ratings that abysmal? I blame stupid America and it’s obssesion with awful ****ing television. Stupid America had a heavy hand in killing Arrested Development, Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, Jericho and a graveyard of other excellent shows. Could Kings have been among them? I’m guessing we won’t even get the chance to find out.
