Six Action Movies I’m Really Looking forward to Seeing

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Considering how good LOTR’s is, and considering this is a Peter Jackson film, I’d say it’s nearly impossible for this movie to fail.

*I’m on the fence about Men in Black III, The Wolverine,  Fast and the Furious 6,  and Iron Man 3.  And I’m sure the Planet of the Apes follow up will kick ass.

  1. Agreed on all of these. Maybe not so much all in on the Avatar sequels but I’ll definitely give em a look. How about two action movies right around the corner though:

    Immortals & Underworld 4

  2. Not to nitpick, but none of these really considered “action” movies, right? Expendables 2 would be an “action” movie. Star Trek sequel would be an adventure movie. I could be wrong.

Nah, I disagree, “action-adventure” is a genre all these fall into. There is pure action, like The Expendables, and pure adventure, like say, National Treasure, but these are all definitely a combination.

  4. I enjoy your posts and reviews, but have to disagree about something.

I don’t see how you can include these two sentences in the same post.

“Call me a sentimentalist but I do long for the days of old when stories and characters mattered more than effects and colors.”

“I thought that Star Trek was one of the best movies I’ve seen in the last five years.”

    This seems most illogical.

  5. Expendables 2 is all I’m looking forward to. Superman is gonna bomb. And if the Dark Knight is any indication, then the things I hated in Batman Begins, which were amplified even worse in Dark Knight, will have those dials turned to 11 in “Rises”.

  6. Amy Adams is radiating of beauty. And she’s a talented actress. Honestly, she (along with Michael Shannon) are the only good actors in the new Superman movie. Other than that, that movie is going to do well BO wise but is going to fail critically.
