The Men Behind the Dwarves of The Hobbit
Mixed feelings aside on The Hobbit, I was yet again impressed with the sorts of trick photography employed to make a bunch of fully grown men look like dwarves. I had trouble telling them apart other than three or four of them, but now we have a comprehensive list not only of all the dwarves, but the actors that played them as well.
This gallery shows the dwarves and the less-bearded faces of those behind them. Quite a good looking bunch of dudes when you take away the bulbous noses and four foot height. Check them all out below, and we’ll be seeing them for quite a while in the next two films to come.
William Kircher as Bifur
Stephen Hunter as Bombur
Peter Hambleton as Gloin
Mark Hadlow as Dori
Ken Stott as Balin
John Callen as Oin
Jed Brophy as Nori
James Nesbitt as Bofur
Graham McTavish as Dwalin
Dean O’Gorman as Fili
Aidan Turner as Kili
Adam Brown as Ori
Fili looks just like Andy Samberg and Kili looks like Sean Williams Scott. i hope they do something for the MTV movie awards.
Just a stylistic point, but couldn’t you have formatted it so that they are grouped by name similarity, since those are the dwarves that are related to each other? So, have Bifer, Bofur and Bombur grouped so we can see the similarities between that family, then Oin and Gloin, then Fili and Kili, Oin and Gloin, Balin and Dwalin, Ori and Nori.
@GrandWazoo – You may be nit picking but sometimes it is the small things that can make or break something.
