Monk Watchers are Often Monk-Like

I’m dedicating this post to my mom, who is both a big fan of Monk and a big fan of being obsessive compulsive. She routinely reads Unreality and sends me a list of all my typos, which are frequent as between this site and others, I write about 13 posts a day.

So yeah, this picture demonstrates the irony of a Monk owner’s DVD collection. If you don’t get it right away, just wait for it.

  1. As an actual OCD sufferer, I would like to make one thing clear. Monk is by no means, the definition of obsessive compulsive disorder.

I hate when people assume that OCD is characterized by extreme neatness, hand washing, and irrational phobias.

OCD is much larger than that and can manifest itself in many different ways. I think the most common misconception is that the disorder is exactly the same across the board.

It is also, not at all a joke, as many television shows make it seem. OCD is a mental disorder that can ruin someone’s life. For example, imagine forgetting to turn off a light switch, but instead of dismissing it until you get home, you think about it constantly and it’s the only thing you can think about. Nothing else runs through your head except for the idea of running home and turning off this one light switch. Imagine the consequences of this kind of behavior every single day.

Now, I have no problem with this post and I love visiting Unreality after a long day, but I just thought I should present the facts, before someone posts an uninformed or foolish post.

    Thank you.

  2. The odds are on top, the evens are on the bottom and they are in color order.
Mr. Monk would have bought additional seasons to add up to an even number.
The seasons shown add up to 15, not a great number like 10. He might just throw season 5 in the trash.

  3. The red ones are together in numerical order and the white ones are together in numerical order. The red ones should be on the bottom so that season 1 is first… unless there is a balance out of frame that we can’t see…

  4. There’s the colour thing as well, but what jumped out for me was that the angle that Monk is facing changes progressively from left to right.

Or am I trying to read too much into it?
