How Skyrim Affects Relationships

Skyrim is a game that can be almost soul consuming at times, as you’ll pick up the controller, kill a few Draugrs, become Archmage of the College of Winterhold and when you look up, it’s six hours later.

Needless to say, ┬áif two people that are dating are BOTH playing the game hardcore? It can be a bit of a buzzkill on the relationship, as the virtual world becomes far more engrossing than the real one. I thought this was a particularly hilarious video illustrating that point. My favorite part is how he hangs up the phone, which I’ve totally done on many an occasion when my hands are full.

  1. i don’t know. The cute gamer girl in my office has admitted to using her feminine whiles and buying her man Saints Row 3 to ensure she gets first dibs on their copy of Skyrim. That sounds like a domestic situation I would be lucky to find myself in.

  2. I have to say that seeing all these blogs/articles about Skyrim and relationships sometimes I kinda have to laugh. My fiance has this game and he does get sucked into it for a few hours, but you know what? That is my time to do what I want to do, watch what I want to watch, cook or whatever. We have a very good and strong relationship and a game is the last thing that would ever come between us. It’s a game! He likes playing it! I don’t mind! He knows when he’s had enough and he stops, and in between he comes in and gives me kisses. So I’m a pretty happy camper!
