It’s a simple concept, get Indiana Jones himself in a room playing as Nathan Drake in Uncharted, he’ll sell the game himself.
I don’t know how much finagling it took to get the normally reclusive Harrison Ford to actually do a commercial for Uncharted as yes, it’s Japanese, but he should know that something this neat would go viral. It’s not a traditional ad, it’s mere him sitting down, playing through the game.
It would seem to be a bit dry of a concept, but his reactions to the action onscreen are geniuine, and he seems genuinely impressed by it. If he wasn’t, knowing Ford this endorsement wouldn’t have happened. It’s just rather cool to see perhaps the greatest action icon of all time experiencing the adventure genre in a new way. Nathan Drake is no Indiana Jones, but he’s certainly inspired by him, and his games are exciting and gripping in a different, but not entirely dissimilar to the old Jones trilogy. Just a very cool video to see.
Thanks to Sam for sending this in.
They got Han Solo, Deckard, and Indi to endorse it? Must. Buy.
Who else wanted Harrison to quote Air Force One, “Get off of my plane!!!”
Did anyone else get the feeling that either he was woodenly reading from a script to show how “fantastic” he thinks the game is or he is genuinely conZolombiefied, “whatever, I’m playing myself, LEAVE!”
