Why yes, thank you for that lovely round of applause. Unreality has our very first exclusive, and it comes courtesy of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the summer blockbuster that was far more entertaining than I imagined it would be. Well apparently the DVD/Blu-Ray comes out next Tuesday, and it’s got some bonus features on it that show how all the CGI in the movie was done, and considering it was quite literally 9/10ths of the movie, a lot of work surely went into it.
The clip we’ve got today is a short discussion of the creating and modeling of the supersonic, Gaelic-speaking jet from the movie, that can magically fly from Washington DC to Russia in under ten minutes. Apparently it was inspired by the real life Blackbird SR-71, which is clear in its design, and it’s mixed with a little Cobra tech for extra spice. It also gave Marlon Wayans a reason to be in the movie.
Check it out above and look for G.I. Joe next Tuesday if you haven’t already pirated it off the internet.
