Why exactly is the writer of Frost/Nixon writing an HBO movie about Bill Clinton that has exactly nothing to do with the Monica Lewinsky scandal? I’ve no idea, but the project is a whole lot of strange, as it’s about Clinton’s interactions with Tony Blair, where Dennis Quaid is playing Clinton and Michael Sheen is reprising his The Queen role as Tony Blair. Oh, and Julianne Moore is Hilary.
What the hell? I mean, I know it’s on HBO and I’m not supposed to ask questions (such as “why the hell would anyone want to watch a miniseries about John Adams?”), but this is just pretty out there. I understand this writer enjoys watching people talk to each other, but what exactly happened between Clinton and Blair that was so interesting? I would have figured Bush and Blair would have made for a more interesting story.
Whatever, I’ll give it a shot. But I do expect a Monica Lewinsky movie at some point, preferably starring Jodi Lyn O’Keefe as the young intern,
