GTA Online: The Mini-MMO That Looks Amazing

I hate MMOs. There’s just something about running around a world with characters that are ten times as powerful as me named things like XxXDeathlordXxX that I can’t stand. I’ve shied away from the genre, first because I thought I’d become addicted to it, but then just because I didn’t like it very much at all.

But now, GTA V is bringing us a different sort of MMO that feels like it’s going to be right up my alley. GTA Online will bring us maps that are sixteen players only, and you can cause chaos or do co-op missions and level up your virtual life in the game. You can do the obvious sort of stuff like change your appearance with clothes, haircuts and tattoos, but you can also buy and furnish apartments, car garages and airplane hangers.

There’s just something about the idea of taking The Sims and injecting it with GTA serum that really appeals to me, even as I grow tired of online multiplayer in games. I’ll be damned if I’m not going to bust my ass off to rack up cash to build up a car garage to rival Jay Leno’s.

What do you think about GTA Online so far?

  1. I don’t think my life is going to be long enough to play enough of this game. I want to play it forever and ever and ever…

This is going to be so damn amazing I can hardly even look at another game until it comes out.
