A Look at the Most Colossal Video Game Worlds

Quite a long time ago, I made this post, which showed a map of some of the largest video game worlds out there. It’s funny, because Grand Theft Auto III seemed so ENORMOUS at the time, and then Just Cause 2 came along and made it look like  a drop in a pond.

But as big as JC2 is, there are far, far larger video game worlds out there. This new updated map shows some of the most massive areas in gaming. The biggest, is of course Daggerfall, but I think that’s sort of cheating, as it wasn’t exactly a detailed world in all of those 60,000 square miles.

What the hell is Fuel? I mean, I’ve heard of it, but is there any reason it needed to be this massive? Curiosity almost makes me want to go pick it up. I can’t be more than ten bucks by now.

  1. FUEL is a post-apocalyptic racing game, like Motorstorm but set in Fallout 3’s world. Kinda.

Not as good as that sounds, unfortunately….but not totally bad, especially for only a few quid.

  2. Sorry to hijack this post but have you guys checked out the Planetary Resources news? Dudes want to mine near Earth asteroids and have the Google founders as investors + James Cameron!

Write something interesting about it why don’t you? This is the best news ever since NASA has been trimmed down.

P.s. I’m based in South Africa so I’m not marketing for the company or anything. Just think it’s interesting for the sci fi geeks (like me).
