What a Network TV Budget Buys You These Days

Terra Nova is a big risky experiment due to the fact that it costs a lot of damn money to make a show that constantly features dinosaurs. So in order to make sure the dino-CGI is passable, it appears that the rest of the show has had to trip back a bit.

I love Nerf guns as much as the next guy, but I hardly think they’re the best tool for taking down T-Rexes, even if you do paint them intimidating gun colors. I always thought those guns looked little wimpy, and now I know why.

This can’t be the first show or movie to paint over Nerf guns as props. I’m going to go look for other examples, and if you have any, let me know.

heres also a post about all the different nerf guns used in the show

Not a Gun Person so i wouldn´t really know what is fake and what not, but i´ve seen a few “modded” PSP´s, as mobile computers, “bomb timer-devices” and the best, as “Intersect-Removing” device (when Chucks mom removed the intersect from him in his Home Basement) XD

I see a nerf gun and I want to paint it black

I don’t know if it counts, but I love it when they use miniature objects to shoot explosions. Last week I saw some episodes of Miami Vice where you can clearly see some toy speedboat being blown up.
Allot of times you won’t notice it , especially with the cgi nowadays. Like this one from Inception:

    How awesome is that!!

It’s a bit like when Firefly used Starship Troopers outfits 🙂

Pretty sure River Song is running around shooting Silents with a Nerf gun. Which, considering this is Doctor Who, doesn’t sound all that absurd really.

Farscape used lots of different nerf guns and modded real world objects.
