Behold, the Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds

Published by Paul Tassi under Images, Movies, Posters

basterds-poster1.jpg

In what’s likely to be the only art exhibition I’d ever be pumped about going to, a series of talented artists have banded together to create unique poster art for Inglorious Basterds and compiled them all together to be shown at the Upper Playground Gallery in Los Angeles tomorrow. Not only that, but you can buy prints of each poster, and they’ll be numbered and signed by Quentin Tarantino himself. And all money goes to Haiti! Good lord, this is the greatest art show of all time.

I’ve grabbed the entire batch of posters which I’ve featured below. The one up there is my favorite, but damn are there a lot of cool ones here. Check them out:

A Collection of Awfully Photoshopped Movie Posters

Published by Paul Tassi under Images, Movies, Posters

Because assassins can rearrange their bone structure…

I consider myself a fairly well versed photoshop connoisseur. I know my masks and paths and what not, but it’s shocking just how bad some of the supposed “professionals” in the movie industry are. This collection of movie art is just a little bit off, and you might not see it on your first glance, but something just isn’t right.

And yes, I did take these from one of my favorite websites of the year, Photoshop Disasters, which has a crap ton more magazine covers and ads and such that look even worse than what you’re about to see. I highly suggest you go check them out when you’re done here.

I added helpful hints in case you can’t quite figure out what to look at. Continue Reading »

Dolphin Assassins Yield the Greatest Movie Poster and Tagline Ever?

Published by Paul Tassi under Images, Movies, Posters

day-of-the-dolphin.jpg

Before you start saying, “Ohh this is so fake, and totally Photoshop,” let me just tell you, NO. IT. IS. NOT.  And better yet? IT WAS NOMINATED FOR TWO OSCARS. I kid you not. Yes, best music and best sound still count as Oscars. Since it’s 1973, I’m just going to assume only like, five other movies came out that year.

Here’s the synopsis, and I’m pretty sure this is in no way meant to be a comedy.

“Dr Jake Terrell, who has been training a pair of dolphins for many years, has had a breakthrough. He has taught his dolphins to speak and understand English, although they do have a limited vocabulary. When the dolphins are stolen, he discovers they’re to be used in an assassination attempt. Now he is in a race to discover who is the target, and where the dolphins are, before the attempt is carried out.”

It’s like Free Willy, but with terrorism! And George C. Scott! I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!

Everything I Don’t Like in Life Crammed into One Movie Poster

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

satc-poster.jpg

1. Sex in the City

2. Sarah Jessica Parker

3. Bad puns

4. Girls with big sunglasses

5. The fact this is coming out on or near my birthday

6. Pulsating disco lights

7. New York City, no offense if you live there

8. Dead franchises being beaten until a few more dollars start leaking from their orifices

Why not just have broccoli and someone texting during a movie on there and you’ll have a full set of stuff I hate?

They’re making another one of these and the Arrested movie still isn’t done? Gahh.

Taking it All The Way Patrick Stewart

Published by Nattyb under Oddly Enough, Posters

Patrick Stewart

A couple of weeks ago we brought you some good times with Alec Baldwin photoshops.  Today’s man is Patrick Stewart.  I don’t know what it is about certain actors that just works when you add them to different movies or scenes, but let me tell you something:  Patrick Stewart definitely works.

So if you are interested in seeing Stewart look like John Malkovich or even take the form of a Pharaoh, then you might want to consider continuing on with this piece.

Here are some awesome Patrick Stewart photoshops

‘The Hole’ Poster is…AHHH THERE’S AN ALIEN IN BETWEEN YOU GUYS!

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

the-hole-poster.jpg

Dear Lord, THIS is what Haley Bennett looks like in real life, but thanks to a bit of sandblasting airbrushing, she looks like the film’s villain, a creature who has never seen sunlight and has crawled out of The Hole to kill us all. The kid on the left knows what I’m talking about it.

A Collection of Awesome Apple I-Mac Wallpapers

Published by Nattyb under Oddly Enough, Posters

Apple Wallpaper

Are you a Mac or a PC person?   Personally I use a PC but I won’t deny that I virtually never hear of problems with a Mac whereas a PC, well let’s just say there’s a fair share of things that make me want to blow my brains out.

And while I’ll probably remain loyal to Microsoft, it doesn’t mean that I won’t be pissed off from time to time.  However, you gotta give credit to Apple for having some awesome campaigns and aesthetically their products looks awfully cool.

If you own a PC, at the least, you might want to consider some of these wallpapers

Really Jackie Chan?

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

spy-next-door.jpg

In my sequel article to “Really Clive Owen?” I now present to you, “Really Jackie Chan?” I understand the man is getting older, and maybe can’t kick quite as much ass as he used to, but that’s no reason to start turning into The Rock and doing horrendously concieved children’s movies like this one. The Karate Kid remake is bad enough, but this? It’s a whole different level.

Why are action stars feeling the need to pacify themselves just to be in terrible kids movies like this. It worked ONE TIME for Vin Diesel in The Pacifier (and that’s debatable), it does not mean it’s an idea to be repeated. This even have the same freaking “wacky animal” addition. Come on!

‘Legion’ Poster Shows My Almost Halloween Costume

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

legion.jpg

After watching the trailer for Legion, I decided that I was going to try to be a battle angel for halloween, due to the extreme awesomeness of the fight scene between Gabriel (pictured) and Michael.

But once I realized that large black angel wings cost $50 by themselves, I had a change of heart. So what am I going as? I’m currently deciding between Mad Max and a Japanese eighth grader from Battle Royale. Either way I will most likely be posting pictures, so look forward to that.

See an ass ton more Legion banners over at JoBlo.

‘Daybreakers’ Poster is More ‘Matrix’ Than ‘Twilight’

Published by Paul Tassi under Movies, Posters

daybreakers-poster.jpg

I need to get that goddamn Dear John poster out of my mind, so here’s a much cooler poster for Daybreakers, the movie that’s proving that vampires do NOT all have to be totally lame now that Twilight is more popular than Pokemon.

What you’re looking at here is a human blood farm. Vampires are now most of the population, and the remaining humans are kept alive like this, and farmed for blood until they can produce no more. Problem is, the world is running out of humans, and they have to figure out what to do next to avoid extinction, or even worse, transformation.

Just watch the trailer again:
