Lil’ Kraken in Training

From Barak Ashraf comes this rather adorable illustration of a Kraken trying to practice his ship attacking skills. Or maybe it’s just a baby octopus getting really excited about a toy boat, but I’m choosing to believe the latter.

You can browse around Ashraf’s site here, but I’m thinkin we might have the wrong guy. The other pieces I’ve find just don’t seem to be on the same level as this one, so I’m a touch perplexed. And that symbol in the corner seems like its spells out something different. A’gun? The mystery thickens.

It’s definitely the same signature on several of the illustrations on his portfolio–I think it’s a stylized bet-resh-kuf, which spells “Barak”. On this pic below the sig is the Hebrew year 5771.

You mean you’re choosing to believe the former.
