Then you haven’t been paying attention, the consoles have been doing this for months now. To see a bigger push of it on the new consoles shouldn’t be shocking,
They only have an interest in the money to be made ion the living room, that’s how its always been. now that they smell more money in things that arent games, thats where there focus will be.

You convincing yourself MS and Sony really cared about gaming is your fault.

I’ve indicated in a previous post that Sony has really lost touch with gamers by making their last two console releases (PSP and PS3) alternative media devices FIRST and gaming consoles second. They’ve really had to play catch-up to Nintendo and Microsoft to get to where they are now.

I was actually so excited to learn that the whole theme of the PS4 was creating a better gaming experience – GOING BACK TO GAMES. I haven’t wanted to own a Sony product for a while, and they have definitely peaked my interest. That is until I see that their new controller is a similar (kind of/sort of) think to the new WiiU, and that their big reveals were beautiful graphics (good graphics does not a good game make), and Diablo 3.

Ugh. Come on guys – blow my mind already.

No one believe me, but as you’ve pointed out (now) its been there to see for the people who were looking for it

While MS’s style for whatever press event may be better, I don’t think the substance will be much difference. I Expect to be equally underwhelmed.

And then the video started and I was like “really, it’s just Diablo 3?”

I think touting the graphics wasn’t a bad idea, since a lot of (stupid) gamers go on and on about graphics and having graphics pissing contests.
