Remember that Cool Slo-Mo Song from Dredd?

Published by at 2:00 pm under Movies,Videos

I recently downloaded the soundtrack for one of my favorite films last year, Dredd. In it, I hoped to find that badass, ethereal track that played during the sequences where people were taking the drug “slo-mo.” As you might expect, the intended effect is that everything is slowed down for the user by a factor of a few hundred percent.

I was dismayed to find the track not on the list, and only through research did I find out that it was actually…a Justin Bieber song. Wait, what?

That’s right. The track in question is actually Justin Bieber’s “U Smile” slowed down by 800%. As it turns out, you can slow anything down by that much and it will turn into a pretty cool ambient music track. I’ve previously experienced this with both Portal’s Still Alive and the Jurassic Park theme. It’s ten minutes long, and I bet you’ll stay for the whole thing.

Still a really awesome soundtrack all by itself, downloaded it as soon as I saw the movie in theaters.

I don’t know man; they would have to pay a lot of money for that track I assume. Why bother? Unless they just used an in house “band” to recreate it (Dr. Dre’s model).

    It’s in Ma-ma’s Requiem.

And in actuality it only merely inspired Paul Leonard-Morgan’s score, it is not verbatim the Bieber song slowed down.

    Maybe rephrase “thorough research.”
