Elijah Wood’s Touching Last Day on Lord of the Rings
My dislike of this year’s The Hobbit is well-documented, but I was a really big fan of the original Lord of the Rings series, as were most of us.
Though splitting The Hobbit into three parts seems like a bit of a cash grab to me on the part of the studio, and making the film at all doesn’t feel entirely necessary, I think that Peter Jackson’s motives are pure in doing so. In the video above, where he’s wrapping up the closing shot of the entire series with Elijah Wood, you see that he’s just so emotionally attached to the project, he doesn’t want to let it go.
If making those films really were the best years of his life, it’s no wonder he would jump at the chance to do it all over again. And he even got to have Elijah back for a cameo at the beginning! Touching stuff above, be forewarned.

It’s neat seeing that jackass direct. Now I have a better understanding of why his movies suck.
