Things You’d Be Surprised Apple Didn’t Invent

Published by at 8:00 am under Images

Let me just start off by saying that I own an iPhone, iPad, iTouch, and an iPod mini.   So no, this isn’t an Apple bashing article.   However, there is something to be said about assumptions people make about tons of companies.  Fact is, most larger companies steal ideas all the time.   It’s the fact that they’re so large that these ideas become hidden in the shuffle and consumers just assume the ideas came from the larger companies.

But let’s be real here.  Tons of successful products are merely improvements over existing products.  That’s how evolution works.  It’s how technology works.  Still though, it’s always interesting to find out the true origins of certain devices that I use on a daily basis.

Bet you didn’t know this stuff about Apple…..

The problem is that Apple is going around suing other companies out of certain markets for these such “nventions”, which makes them a total asshole company that you should be ashamed of supporting.

The problem is not that Apple sues other companies, but rather the US patent system (maybe and other countries) is broken. Anyone can patent anything even without a physical model. This is very apperent with the “patent trolls” companies that buy all kinds of patents and then make their living out of suing others. You can’t blame someone if he/she missuses the system to thair gain.

But yes, my opinion is also that Apple is an ass!

apple copies other people, other people copy apple. it’s the way the industry works these days, sadly enough. the only thing that makes me less sympathetic toward samsung is that they did it so overtly. “hey, let’s copy apple!” does NOT qualify as R&D.

but yes, it’s a vicious cycle of copycats. the winner is whoever puts these things together in the best way, and, for better or for worse, apple is really good at wrapping things up in nice, simple, pretty packages.

How about the more common misconceptions such as they invented the tablet, mp3 player etc.

Once again we’re caught up in the “invent” idea. Apple takes ideas and makes them better. They don’t flat out clone or carbon copy, they enhance. Because there are people that believe they “invented” these things isn’t Apple’s fault… its a triumph of marketing and of great products.

I hear so many apple haters get such joy out of this type of thing… they don’t realize how misaligned they are in their thinking.

Copy ideas. Enhance ideas. Just don’t take a copy machine and put out clone phones. (Samesung)

John, Apple deserves criticism for suing companies because of their rediculous patents. Articles like this exposue just how much the big hardware and software companies copy each other. It reeks of hypocrisy.

It’s a product, not a lifestyle! I have nothing against people who simply prefer Apple or the products themselves but MAN, I am sick of that cult. You don’t see me with a Linux poster, Linux Shirt, Linux car decal, Linux keychain, Linux stickers, Linx mugs, trying to infuse Linux into a conversation about general technology (i.e. video games) rolling out lines like “It just works” etc etc.

I have Mayan blood. I’m telling you, you guys don’t have to worry about some misinterpreted stela that describes a doomsday prediction that we never made. The real threat is the Church of Apple haha

    Oops

PS that whole comparison to an Apple fanatic with their brand apparel isn’t a general statement about Apple enthusiasts, it’s my experience with several specific people in college. Just fyi before someone wants to destroy me because they thought I over-generalized

You cannot imagine to quantity of things and software Apple take credits and pretend to have invented that are in reality invented years before on a PC.
    May it die soon.
