The Portal series is a fantastic mine for laughs, Wermine, you’re right about that! And trashcanman, you have no idea. The kind of dicks that want to make a lady feel like crap for being a gamer are nothing if not uncreative. I heard the “her-ass-ment” refrain every single time I tried to point out what a bunch of assmunches they were. You should totally pick up The Orange Box, by the way. It’s absolutely the best bargain going in videogames, hands down.

Please tell me nobody has ever actually used that “her-ass-ment” line on you. I don’t know that I’ll be able to sleep soundly with the knowledge that people that lame exist. The online community has fallen hard and fast. I used to have so much fun playing games like Halo 2, DOA, and Left 4 Dead with strangers online, but in the last few years people have stopped using headsets and it’s becoming customary to send hatemail to every player who beats you (and sometimes even when you beat them) after the fact. If you want to talk shit or bitch at me, I’d rather you at least had the sack to put on the headset and do it in real time rather than sending me a raging voicemail commanding me to kill myself that I likely even won’t bother listening to until the next day.

I really missed the Portal boat. I just suck at puzzle games and although I’ve been planning to hit up The Orange Box since the damn day it was released, I’ve never gotten around to it. There’s always Elder Scrolls or Fallout or Halo or Gears or 100 other games I need to play but haven’t. One day, Portal. One day we shall meet at last…

I played the coop campaign in its wholesome. I have to say I enjoyed a lot. Glados’s attempts to get us betray one another was hilarious. Did I say attempts? I meant successes. We got a lot of laughs out of this one. Also the puzzle difficulty and variety was enjoyable, a feat which I have to appraise.
